Some Iowa school districts are leading the way and refraining from using pesticides for cosmetic purposes . They are also saving money by not purchasing pesticides.
Ben Grimm, Dave McKenzie and the grounds staff have worked with community members to arrive at a grounds management plan that significantly reduces the use of turf pesticides for general lawn areas around schools where children play.
